HOW TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON ALIBABA, ALIEXPRESS, 1688, TAOBAO, TMALL, SECURELY

Let’s look at how to make secure payment via any of the Alibaba websites. Now we have to say something again about making payment. I have already introduced Alibaba’s Trade Assurance to you. Trade Assurance once again is the guarantee you have that Alibaba group will refund you if your supplier did not meet the terms of purchase. Terms like supplying a product different from the description or not even shipping at all after your payment.

Steps to take:

• After negotiating the price, ask your Supplier to send you a Trade Assurance order reflecting the agreed pricing.
• You will get a notification from Alibaba once this Trade Assurance order is created.
• You will see this notification at the top right panel of Alibaba.com after you sign in:

• You will also get an email notification like my own below that I highlighted in yellow:

• Proceed to make payment and pay transaction fee only with this platform. You can pay directly or with Paypal.
• Go ahead to input your card details.

Aliexpress secure Payment – Alipay:

There is no trade Assurance in Aliexpress, etc. But you can pay securely using the provided payment platform which is Alipay.

Payment on Aliexpress is fast and secure. Just select the card type and fill in your details to make payment.

• Paying with Naira or Dollar MasterCard?

Now, I do not advise you to pay with anything other than the debit or credit card issued by your bank. MasterCard and Visa cards issued by Nigerian and African banks are accepted internationally.

Personally, I recommend importers to go get a foreign domiciliary account. Dollar is the most used of all foreign currencies so I recommend a dollar domiciliary account for your purchases. After this your bank will issue you a debit card on request.

Alternatively you can make your purchases with Naira MasterCard and Visa cards. The bank will automatically charge you the dollar equivalent of your order in your local (Naira) currency.

But I recommend dollar debit card because:

• It is accepted by all platforms
• You will determine the currency conversion rate

Virtual cards

If you so much worry about security in online transactions, then you may go get a virtual card.
