Solution:

  1. i) 32 3/5 = (32 1/5) 3 = (5√32) 3

= 2 3 = 8

  1. ii) 343 2/3 = (343 1/3 )2 = (3√343)2

= (7 3)1/3)2

= 72 = 49

iii)           64 2/3 = (64 1/3)2 = (4 3)1/3)2 = 4 2

  1. iv) (0.001)3 = (1/100)3 = (1/10)3)3 = (10 -3)3

= 10 -9 = 1/10 9
  1. v) 14 0 = 1
