The following principles should be considered when buying or selling:
Do not buy or sell on credit: Buying on credit results in the un-noticed accumulation of financial charges.
Compare values: Do not buy in just one shop rather compare prices in different stores and buy where items are cheaper and good.
Buy on the basis of intended use: this means buying what you think you will use.
Do not over pay for convenience: convenience foods are more expensive than raw foods and one may not even get all the necessary nutrients from convenient foods.
Buy in bulk: This will save time, money and energy of going to the market every day.
Buy food in season: It is cheaper to buy food in season than out of season.
The market place should be accessible i.e. there must be free entering and free exit.
Get adequate information about the market, goods and services.
