Study in Andorra for international students – cost and visa

Upon arrival in Andorra, individuals who are not part of the European Union need to apply for a residence permit through the Immigration Service. For students, this involves obtaining an Immigration authorization for studies, internships, top-level sports training, or research (procedure F). Prior to arriving, students must have already requested certain documents from their home country. However, cross-border students who reside outside of Andorra are exempt from this procedure, although they still need to undertake training internships within the country.

It should be noted that this immigration permit allows students to work in Andorra, but only for a maximum of 20 hours per week and in positions related to their studies or in strategic or priority sectors for the country. The specific documents required by the Immigration Service can be found on their official website. Some of the main documents include a national identity document or passport, recent photographs, criminal record certificates, civil status certificate, proof of health insurance, and a bank certificate demonstrating sufficient financial means during the study period.

Once in Andorra, students also need to provide proof of enrollment at the University of Andorra for the current academic semester, along with the academic calendar and the degree study program. Additionally, cross-border students should provide a photocopy of the rental agreement, hotel certificate, or city hall registration certificate.

The University of Andorra considers the welcoming of international students as a strategic priority. Given the appeal of the country, a significant number of young individuals, particularly from neighboring regions, opt for Andorra as their university destination.
